A free, hands-on safety centre where children feel a simulated earthquake, lean into a wind machine, escape a smoke-filled corridor and try firefighting games. It’s a genuinely memorable, free rainy-day option that’s documented almost entirely in Japanese.
Why children love it: You feel real (safe) shaking, a 32 m/s gale and a smoke escape — dramatic in the way kids love, with a serious point underneath.
What children actually do: Ride an earthquake simulator, brace against a strong-wind machine, practise a smoke-evacuation, and play firefighting and rescue-helicopter simulators.
Honest drawbacks: The shaking, wind, darkness and 4D flood/landslide simulations can be intense for sensitive children (each is optional). The fire-extinguisher activity is for about age 8 and up, and spoken instructions are mainly in Japanese.
How comfortable will an English-speaking family be?
An English brochure/PDF exists, but the spoken safety instruction during simulations is delivered mainly in Japanese — it isn’t confirmed as fully English-guided.
