Sumida's landmark museum of Tokyo history reopened on 31 March 2026 after an approximately four-year renovation, with new immersive projection-mapping staging and walk-in reconstructions. A perennial family favourite next to the Kokugikan.
Why children love it: Life-size old Edo streets, a full-scale Nihonbashi bridge, kabuki theatre and hands-on Edo-life exhibits — like walking into old Tokyo.
